Updates

When we started this project, we had no idea how much fun it would be or how incredible the response would turn out to be. Every day after school, Lucas would ask about the donation totals so he could plan his shopping trips to pick out toys. I won’t lie, at first it was hard to see some of his favorite toys in the store and know they weren’t coming home with us. But that quickly shifted to, “I would like this if I were sick, and they will like it too.”

Our original plan was to deliver the toys to Yale Children's Hospital on his actual 10th birthday, but a fever sidelined him, and we had to wait until New Year’s Eve. In the end, it felt like the perfect way to close out the year.

We plan to deliver toys to Boston in February when we travel up for a cardiology checkup. Thank you all for supporting this effort and helping us help others, just as so many have supported us over the past ten years!
